A Perfect Michigan Summers Day

Some wedding days are beautiful because of the details. Others are beautiful because of the people.
Phillip and Jenna's wedding day on June 20, 2026, was both.
On a gorgeous Michigan summer day, guests gathered on the cobblestone patio at Zuccaro's in Chesterfield beneath a sky painted with soft clouds and brilliant blue. The weather could not have been more perfect as family and friends took their seats and waited for Jenna to make her way down the aisle.
And what an entrance it was.
Jenna looked absolutely radiant. Her dress shimmered with delicate sparkles and intricate lace that caught the light with every step. But as stunning as her dress was, it was her smile that stole the show. Jenna has one of the most joyful smiles and contagious laughs of anyone I've ever met. The happiness she carried throughout the day was impossible to miss, and it seemed to spread to everyone around her.
One of my favorite parts of the day was simply watching the people who love them. Jenna's family absolutely adores her, and Phillip's family feels the same way about him. Everywhere you looked, there were proud parents, emotional grandparents, lifelong friends, and family members celebrating not just a wedding, but two people they genuinely treasure.
For me, this wedding carried an extra layer of meaning. Jenna was one of my students in youth ministry years ago. I still remember teaching her in 8th grade Sunday School and watching her grow through those formative years. There is something incredibly special about witnessing those moments as a youth leader, but it becomes even more meaningful when years later you're standing behind a camera on their wedding day.
One of the greatest gifts of serving in ministry is getting to share life with people beyond a single season. You celebrate milestones, walk through challenges, worship together, and become part of each other's stories. Being able to photograph Jenna and Phillip's wedding wasn't just another wedding day—it felt like celebrating family. Knowing them, knowing their families, and sharing church life together made every moment that much more meaningful.
As the ceremony concluded and the celebration moved inside, the energy shifted from heartfelt to unforgettable. The ballroom quickly transformed into one giant party. Guests filled the dance floor wearing LED cowboy hats, glowing glasses, and colorful light-up party tubes as they danced the night away. Laughter echoed through the room, the music never seemed to stop, and the celebration reflected the joy that Phillip and Jenna bring to the people around them.
Phillip is the kind of person who cares deeply for his friends and family, always willing to show up, serve, and invest in others. Paired with Jenna's warmth, joy, and infectious personality, it's easy to see why so many people were excited to celebrate this new chapter with them.
Phillip and Jenna, thank you for allowing me to be part of such an incredible day. It was an honor to witness your vows, celebrate alongside your families, and capture the beginning of this next season together.
