Savannah + Kyle

It was a beautiful September day. The sun was shining with a few small clouds floating by. Sunflowers and White Roses and Baby's Breath adorned every table and surface to be found. Savannah and Kyle were about to become husband and wife.

Savannah and Kyle are an incredible couple. They went to high school together but didn't start dating til years later through mutual friends. They share a cat and a dog and love spending time together outdoors, either fishing or on their boat. It was actually through their puppy that Kyle popped the question, when in January, he got Savannah's puppy a new dog-tag which read "Will You Marry Me?"

But one of my favorite things about this wedding happened BEFORE the wedding day on our consultation call when Savannah first reached out to me about potentially photographing her wedding. When I asked her about what made her wedding unique and what she was excited about, she shared how she and Kyle had recently become Christians and how excited they were to honor the Lord with their wedding day. I was blown away! At that point in our relationship Savannah had no idea that I shared her faith and not only that, but that I am also a pastor. I was smiling ear to ear as she shared her story, because it was such an answer to prayer.

I regularly pray that the Lord would bring me exactly the right clients to work with, and hearing Savannah's story was a beautiful reminder of how God hears our prayers and brings people together at exactly the right time.

The entire day was a beautiful testament to God's faithfulness and their covenant to both God and each other. I smiled at the worship music playing softly throughout the house as I captured bridal details and getting ready photos. It set the atmosphere perfectly for the ceremony that would follow.

Everything took place in White Lake, Michigan on the Gohrmann property. It is the home that Kyle's father built, a beautiful location with a picturesque view across from a lake. They wanted their day to be intimate with close friends and family, and their backyard wedding was a perfect reflection of that. From the ceremony, to the tented reception, to the yard games and bar set up against the barn, each detail reflected Savannah, Kyle and their families.
