Historic Detroit to Silver Shores Waterfront
Sometimes your world is about to change when you least expect it. That was the case for Kyle and Tara on what seemed like an ordinary weekday when their worlds first collided. Tara was the office manager of a Ford dealership and Kyle was in sales, when one day, they naturally crossed paths. They enjoyed their time interacting in the office which eventually led to the two of them spending time together outside of work as well. Tara says she knew he was the one since the first night they hung out. It didn't take long for this sweet couple to begin dating and building a life together.
"He makes me a better person." I remember Tara saying in our first conversation. "His love of people inspires me. He'll go above and beyond for others and he is super modest about it!".
Tara and Kyle are two people who live life on purpose. They make the most of every moment, whether it is celebrating someone’s birthday, or donating items to a local charity in need. As such, it is no surprise that their wedding day was full of purpose, opulence and personal charm.
The ceremony took place at Fort Street Presbyterian Church in downtown Detroit, a historic location built in the 1800’s. Walking into the Sanctuary it felt like walking into one of the historic churches you see in England; you couldn’t help but stare at the ceiling and gaze at all the ornate architecture and woodwork. After vows, prayers and a touching homily from the officiant, the couple shared a kiss that sealed the deal and made them Mr. and Mrs. All of the guests shared in the celebration as we took a giant group photo on the steps of the great church.
After some portraits together on the church steps, we traveled on a party bus to Silver Shores Waterfront for the reception in Wyandotte, MI. A vast white tent stretched overhead the tables decorated with gorgeous floral arrangements featuring the soft blue florals and white roses that had adorned the hands of the bride and her bridesmaids. Twinkling lights and sheer drapery cascaded overhead the guests as they mingled during cocktail hour. There were so many sweet personalizations, from a live painter, to the Marquee letters spelling out “Wallath”, to the unique party favors and a giant five foot crossword puzzle featuring trivia about the bride and groom.
But even more touching were the words spoken about this incredible couple. As the maid of honor reminisced over sweet memories and the best man humorously relayed his favorite traits of our couple, you could see how Tara and Kyle are two people that are cherished by all who know them. Even I, as their photographer, have felt their warmth and friendship from my first interaction with them over the phone. At their engagement session it felt like I was reuniting with old friends and at the wedding, we shared so many laughs together that I have no doubt we have begun a friendship that will last for years to come.
Thank you, Tara and Kyle, for giving me (and many others) the privilege of knowing you and standing by you on your wedding day. You two are in a league all your own!
