COMPLETE PERFECTION
The weather was a perfect 70 degrees with sunshine and a soft breeze. The Waldenwoods Resort was the perfect venue with a stunning lake as it's backdrop. And the couple? Katie and Kevin were the handsomest couple so perfectly in love with each other. I couldn't get over how stunning everything was about this day; it truly was an honor to get to be there to capture it.
The Waldenwoods Resort & Conference Center in Howell, Michigan was a gorgeous location. What made it especially appealing for the couple was how everything was able to take place on site. Katie and her bridesmaids had a sweet bridal cabin to get ready while Kevin and his gentlemen were a short distance away where they could get ready as well. Situated sweetly in-between was their luxurious white tent where the reception would be held after the ceremony.
Inside the tent were fresh white linen tablecloths, soft neutral pampas, accents of gold and metallic, and the gentle glow of candles. A photobooth with a topiary backdrop and custom LED sign read "O'Malley's" where their guests could snap some pictures to remember the day. Another sweet personal detail the couple added were traits and qualities they each loved about the other, on the tables framed in gold.
Katie was a stunning bride. With flawless makeup, luxurious hair perfectly styled and a timelessly elegant dress, she took your breath away! The moment her father saw her for the first time melted my heart. I recall from my own wedding day how tender and precious that moment feels. Katie and her sweet father felt the same as a proud daddy looked at his little girl. Tears gently flowed from the corners of his eyes and he looked at her with pride, love and perhaps a little bit of sadness at just how quickly the time goes by.
The ceremony began. Katie walked through the soft grass towards Kevin, the sweet sunshine, the fresh smell of the clean summer air and the gentle lapping of the lake behind him and all added to the beauty of their day. Katie shared a poem she wrote for her groom. Kevin's face beamed at his bride. They said "I do". They kissed. They became husband and wife.
The sweetness of their wedding day reminds me of what makes love so great. It's not about whether all the details go smoothly, or if the weather cooperates; truly great wedding days really just ride on one simple thing: two people in love. While the O'Malley's had a beautiful day, the main thing I'll remember is how deeply and completely in love they are with each other. Thank you both for letting me share in your day!
